AltStore – the application that helps install .ipa files on iOS devices released a new update v1.4.8 to support the two tools above. Thanks to this support, both Fugu14, unc0ver and AltStore are now all tied together.
In this article, I will guide you to install Fugu14, then jailbreak with unc0ver in an easy to understand way that anyone can do.
- Tethered Jailbreak mostly appear in recent jailbreak tools, implying that the jailbreak is only temporary. If you restart the device, the jailbreak will be lost. You must re-jailbreak the device.
- Untethered Jailbreak temporarily understood as “jailbreak forever” for easy understanding. That is, the jailbreak is only done once, your device will be jailbroken forever even after restarting the device. Of course, it does not take into account the case of upgrading to a new iOS version or restoring the device via iTunes.

Some notes before use
Fugu14 currently only supports devices including iPhone XS, XS Max, XR, 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max, SE (2020), 12, 12 Mini, 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max along with some iPad devices with equivalent configuration. Supported iOS versions are from iOS 14.4 – 14.5.1 (some information suggests that iOS beta may not support it yet). In the future the tool will support more iOS devices and versions.
If you meet the requirements above and have an arm64e device running iOS or iPadOS 14.4 – 14.5.1, you can download and install AltStore v1.4.8 or later, then download the un0ver jailbreak app (v7.0.1). or later) and install Fugu14.
This Fugu14 tool is still very new and may contain bugs. These bugs are continuously being fixed as they are discovered. Only follow this article if you are comfortable with the errors that Fugu14 can bring to your device.
Instructions to jailbreak with Fugu14
Install Altstore on the device
First, please see the article Instructions for installing IPA using AltStore and follow through to the first step of Installing IPA on phone via Altstore if you have not installed Altstore before.
After installing the latest version of AltStore (v1.4.8 or later, if your AltStore version is lower, click Update Altstore in the application), AltStore will display a message as “Jailbreak Requires Untethering”. If your device is not compatible with Fugu14, you will not see this message.
Run Fugu14 and install unc0ver using Altstore
Note to avoid errors in this step, you should pay attention to turn off anti-virus programs, firewall and turn off Realtime Protection of Windows Defender to avoid these programs from blocking AltSever.
In the AltStore app, tap the . button Install Untethering Jailbreak. AltStore will start installing unc0ver placeholder.
Once installed, press the . button Open Placeholder. Press the button Setup Fugu14 green Blue.
Once done, a message will appear, press OK.
Then reopen the AltStore app and let it do the rest. When the process is finished, press the . button Open Placeholder.
Fugu14 interface will reappear, press the . button Install Untether green Blue. Press the button Reboot Now to restart your device.
Jailbreak with unc0ver to complete
After the device reboots, open the AltStore app to continue installing the un0ver jailbreak by tapping the button Install unc0ver. Wait a moment for unc0ver to be installed, then press the . button Open unc0ver.
In unc0ver’s interface, click the blue Jailbreak button to start jailbreaking your device. Notify Jailbreak Completed appears, press OK to restart your device. After reboot, open un0ver again and press the . button Jailbreak green to continue the jailbreak process. Notify Jailbreak Completed appears again, tap OK to boot your device into the jailbreak environment.
After your device finished booting, it is now successfully jailbroken thanks to the combination of Fugu14,unc0ver and AltStore.
Fugu14 will install an application called untether based on unc0ver, when restarting the tweak will not run, but you need to go to the untether application to continue making the tweak work and use. But it is different from semi-untether in that the untether application installed by fugu14 will be installed and the system will add certificate cannot be revoked by Apple.
