Kingston Technology announces a successful 2021 with the No. 1 market share in the SSD hard drive segment. SSD demand until Q4 2021 remains strong thanks to the growth of personal devices, enterprise systems and OEM channel partners. In October, Kingston also expanded its product portfolio by launching two models of PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSDs for high-performance users, including memory drives. KC3000 and memory drive Kingston FURY Renegade.
Data from market analysis company TRENDFOCUS shows that Kingston has become the #1 SSD vendor in the personal sector with 22.2% market share and 22.3 million units shipped for the whole of 2021. In Q4 alone, Kingston’s SSD market share for individual customers increased significantly to 26.8%, demonstrating a positive year-over-year growth rate despite ongoing component shortages. According to TRENDFOCUS, the total number of SSD units for personal consumption increased by 12.4% year-on-year in 2021. Notebook-type units increased by 12% while desktop computers increased slightly by 1% year-on-year. last year, reflecting strong demand for solid-state drives, largely driven by performance, size, and the ability to reduce power consumption. Kingston maintains a competitive edge by working closely with its suppliers, partners and customers to stay flexible and adaptive to changing market needs and landscape.
